Social media in formal education Erasmus + partnership

There is no doubt that we live in the world where everything is digital. People of all ages use modern technologies every day, they have become an important part of our lives. It is true that more and more children start using technologies at very early age. Teenagers are very active on social networks and tend to spend there more time than necessary. From this point of view we would like to use the interest for social media for educational purpose. We would like to point out that social media can be used not only as a popular past time activity, but as the source of educational materials too. We would like to prepare digital materials based on social media study and integrate them into learning, teaching, training and youth work at various levels.
We believe that by preparing interesting activities for the students we will increase their motivation towards learning and their interest in school in general. Using social media and networks is very common among teenagers. Teachers even experience situations when students prefer social media to the tasks given during the lesson. We think that when we attract their attention to different uses of social media, it will be beneficial for them and for their development. Through this project we would like to address all students no matter their academic results. We are convinced that the topic of the project is very interesting for the students and developing this project will help our schools to fight early school leaving, too.
